The weather on your wedding day is one of the things no one can control. While every bride hopes for clear skies and sunshine on their special day, that is not always the case. Many sources such as Zola even say the rain on your wedding day can symbolizes good luck for the marriage, “Superstitions point to rain as being good luck for a marriage, signifying fertility, a clean slate, renewal, and unity.” The best things a bride can do in case rain is in the forecast is to not panic, be prepared, and embrace it.
Don’t Panic
Trust your wedding planner, it is their job to do whatever it takes to make you and your partner feel special on your wedding day and that isn’t going to change just because the forecast predicts rain. Your planner is used to things not going according to plan and they are likely steps ahead of you working diligently to provide you with the perfect solution to rain that is threatening to get in the way.
Be Prepared
In general, it is always better to be overprepared rather than underprepared. With that being said, during the planning stages of your wedding. Your wedding planner will likely be in contact with you in the days leading up to your wedding but the call to move the ceremony inside will not be made until that morning. In case of rain at ceremony time, the ceremony will be moved inside the Belle in the Birkdale room.
Embrace It
Of course, you know that your wedding planner is going to take care of all the logistical details so just remember this is the special day that you have likely been counting down to for a long time so embrace the rain and enjoy it. All your vendors will also know what to do, the photographer will capture the perfect shots (unique with the glimmer from the rain drops), and your makeup artist and hairstylist will know how to work with you so that the rain doesn’t mess anything up.
